The Arts Council of Henderson County is a community organization that promotes, advocates for, and nurtures the arts in Henderson County and western North Carolina.

The Arts Council of Henderson County was founded in 1971 by a group of persons who held strong beliefs that the arts and culture play an important role in the social fabric of the community. Over the past 45 years, the Arts Council has understood the value of cultural programs; how they strengthen our local economy, provide authentic experiences, services, and products, and retain employment in our community. A strong creative economy generates revenue, and is the cornerstone of tourism in Henderson County.
